Red morocco with elaborate gilt dentelle border; gilt title and vignettes of Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the March Hare to spine; gilt edges; green cloth-covered slipcase; original illustrations of John Tenniel engraved on wood by Bruno Rollitz. Condition: Very Good +. Upper right corner of front board rubbed; gilt to spine faded; head and tail of spine show some rubbing; slight paste action to front and rear endpapers. Binding tight; pages clean and crisp. Slipcase condition: Very Good. Foxed, stained, and slightly rubbed, but sturdy and intact. $1,250
