Knits Of A Feather
The 20 hand-knit designs in Knits of a Feather are inspired by author Celeste Young's love of birds--the patterns in their feathers, the shape and colors of their beaks, and in flight, as they lift and glide above us. Young has created a perfect blend of the abstract and the literal, the natural and the artistic in her designs. The hats, the scarves and cowls, the shawls and capelets, sweaters, and household items are reinterpreted as beautiful, one-of-a-kind knitted pieces.
Celeste Young has been knitting since childhood and is currently pursuing Level III of the TKGA Master Knitting Program. She began teaching classes in 2008, using her graduate training in fine arts and education to provide high quality instruction to her students. Celeste's patterns have been featured on the cover of Interweave Knits magazine and in special issues including Jane Austen Knits and Holiday Gifts, the Knitting and Crochet Pattern-a-Day Calendars from Accord Publishing, in various online forums, and in print at independent yarn shops.
